Our Story
A little kitten was dancing on top of a piano, watching me with an expression I had never seen before. She was beautiful, full of character and unlike any cat I had ever met. Over the years, under her gentle guidance, I learned to understand this remarkable, intelligent and endlessly charming breed.
Her name was Minni — and she changed everything.
What began as a single unforgettable moment grew into a passion for the Cornish Rex. Minni opened the door to a world where cats are not only companions, but individuals with their own personalities, needs and ways of communicating. She taught me to listen, to observe and to appreciate the small details that make this breed so extraordinary.
As time went on, my admiration for the Cornish Rex deepened. Their playful nature, curiosity, elegance and intelligence fascinated me. I wanted to learn more — about genetics, health, behavior, responsible breeding and the history of the breed. The more I learned, the stronger my desire grew to breed this wonderful breed with openness, care, and responsibility.
Sommelier’s was born from this commitment. It is a home‑based cattery built on respect, thoughtful practices, and genuine love for the breed. Our cats live as family members, sharing everyday life, routines and moments of joy. We work closely with trusted foster families who provide safe, loving homes for some of our breeding cats, ensuring that every cat receives the attention and environment they deserve.
Over the years, this journey has brought wonderful people into my life — fellow breeders, owners, and cat lovers who share the same values. Cat shows, conversations, shared experiences, and friendships have shaped Sommelier’s into a family rather than just a name. Today, every Sommelier’s kitten carries a piece of that original story. A piece of Minni.
Our goal is simple: to raise confident, healthy, and happy Cornish Rex cats who bring warmth, laughter, and companionship to the families who welcome them.
